Dr. Schaffel attended Brown University where she received both her Bachelor of Science and MD degrees.  She completed her residency at Northwestern University in Chicago before joining Women Physicians Association where she practiced from 1983-2002.  Dr. Schaffel was selected as one of Washington's TOP DOCS by Washingtonian Magazine.  She is married to an architect who has regular working hours.  They have two wonderful children.  When not caring for patients, she enjoys photography, singing, traveling and especially her kids.
